Weekly Wrap-Up: Studio Glimpses: Week in Review
July 20-26, 2026
This week took me from Ceres Gallery to my own backyard planning table. I spent a day in Chelsea helping hang our next group show, then wandered back to Penn Station along the High Line, gathering ideas as I always do. At home, I used Art Placer to mock up the gallery walls for my November solo show, testing how the paintings might live together, such a relief for a visual learner like me. Dave and I took a break to celebrate 29 years of marriage, returning to the Northport Harbor dock where it all began. I got back to work composing my newsletter (and was reminded, happily, how much I actually accomplish when I stop staring at my unfinished To-Do list). And I kept working through the early stages of the installation itself, testing a table and draped fabric as one possible solution to the curtain problem, narrowing in on possible dimensions, and welcoming a batch of fabric swatches that opens up a whole new set of decisions to consider. Every step forward seems to bring more options rather than fewer, and I’m enjoying following where it leads.

I began this daily journal in February, 2026 as I prepared for three exhibitions. My solo exhibition, “Portraits From My Garden” at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie, NY, from June 5 – September 15, 2026, and my work for the group show, “Raising Women’s Voices” in Chelsea, NYC which was on view until July 18, 2026.

My next solo exhibition titled “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” will be at the Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, November 3 – 28, 2026.
