Weekly Wrap-Up: Studio Glimpses: Week in Review
August 10-16, 2026
This week the pieces of “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” kept clicking into place. It started with a studio lighting fix, new LED bulbs that finally solved a flickering problem I’d wrongly blamed on the switch. From there I moved forward on creating my installation: a Zoom with Printree to nail down the specs for my curtain fabric, then off to Micro Center for the display monitor. The water feature arrived and fit the booth perfectly. I gathered footage for the meditation video, drawing on the spirit of my Take a Minute You Tube series. I also picked a new microphone, the DJI Mic Mini, for recording the painting statements that will accompany each work. And on my Naturally Inspired Substack column, I wrote about my little six-year-old self who first taught me to look closely, and how that habit of observation became the center I keep returning to.

I began this daily journal in February, 2026 as I prepared for three exhibitions. My solo exhibition, “Portraits From My Garden” at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie, NY, from June 5 – September 15, 2026, and my work for the group show, “Raising Women’s Voices” in Chelsea, NYC which was on view until July 18, 2026.
My next solo exhibition titled “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” will be at the Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, November 3 – 28, 2026.
