Weekly Wrap-Up: Studio Glimpses: Week in Review
July 27-August 2, 2026
This week centered on the installation piece for Centering in the Midst of Chaos. I chose PrintTree in Long Island City for my curtain fabric, drawn to their proximity and how well their samples showed color and text, and I’m leaning toward a translucent print that invites people to peek in and step inside. I found the right table on Ikea’s website after days of hunting, one tall and shallow enough to leave the curtain room to drape behind it, and it fit the space exactly. I settled on a mid-size monitor, big enough to hold presence without crowding the viewer, and chose horizontal video format over vertical for a calmer, more natural feel. Alongside the installation work, I spent two days writing personal statements for each painting, and kept building my CapCut skills with another “Take a Minute Video.”

I began this daily journal in February, 2026 as I prepared for three exhibitions. My solo exhibition, “Portraits From My Garden” at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie, NY, from June 5 – September 15, 2026, and my work for the group show, “Raising Women’s Voices” in Chelsea, NYC which was on view until July 18, 2026.
My next solo exhibition titled “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” will be at the Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, November 3 – 28, 2026.
