A busy day for me, but I did not work on the projects for the upcoming exhibition. Family first. Drove into Brooklyn to pick up hubby Dave from his Cycle the Hudson Bike Ride, which he’s been doing for the past week. 200 miles of biking and then sleeping in a tent for a week. Different strokes for different folks. The round-trip drive took me over 4 hours due to traffic, but I listened to an audiobook about Frances Perkins, who helped found Social Security, a 40-hour work week, unemployment insurance, and more, working for FDR during the depression and WWII as the first woman in the Cabinet. She was the Secretary of Labor. Thank you Frances!

The book title is “The Woman Behind the New Deal. The Life of Frances Perkins, FDR’s Secretary of Labor and His Moral Conscience”.

I began this daily journal in February, 2026 as I prepared for three exhibitions. My solo exhibition, “Portraits From My Garden” at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie, NY, on view from June 5 – September 15, 2026, and my work that was on view in the June, 2026 group show, “Raising Women’s Voices” in Chelsea, NYC.

My next solo exhibition titled “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” will be at the Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, November 3 – 28, 2026.
