Weekly Wrap-Up: Studio Glimpses: Week in Review
August 3-9, 2026
This week was largely about research and problem-solving for the November installation. I spent a good chunk of time in Photoshop testing what to print on the fabric panels, eventually landing on the idea of masking just the centers of my paintings, a nod to the show’s title, Centering in the Midst of Chaos. I also lost hours searching for the right water feature, one that could bring a sense of calm into the space without fighting its aesthetics. Alongside that, I worked in CapCut editing garden footage for the video component, including a hibiscus that bloomed and was gone within a day. And on Saturday, family pulled me away from all of it, a long drive to Brooklyn, an audiobook about Frances Perkins, and a reminder that the work will always be there when I get back.

I began this daily journal in February, 2026 as I prepared for three exhibitions. My solo exhibition, “Portraits From My Garden” at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie, NY, from June 5 – September 15, 2026, and my work for the group show, “Raising Women’s Voices” in Chelsea, NYC which was on view until July 18, 2026.

My next solo exhibition titled “Centering in the Midst of Chaos” will be at the Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, November 3 – 28, 2026.
